He came to us with a humble heart
And shared His Father's Word.
He taught all who would listen
So they'd be blessed by what they heard.

He developed quite a following
With many who were sincere.
He had a reverence about him
As he drew crowds from far and near.

Gradually, some grew suspicious,
For he didn't look like a king.
The miracles didn't convince them.
And where were his crowns and his rings?

Some were fearful and left him
And wouldn't acknowledge his worth.
A few stayed loyally by his side
As they walked with him o'er the Earth.

Then, many people betrayed him
And turned against him with force.
Those in power sent him to die
Without any guilt or remorse.

When we think of how he suffered
And the pain he must have endured,
We weep with sorrow beyond belief
For he was sinless and pure!

His followers agonized with him
As they saw him die on the cross.
It tore their hearts in pieces
And they ached for their terrible loss.

But, then, something wonderful happened!
Jesus Christ rose from the dead!
That Easter morn brought a miracle -
His body was healed where he'd bled!

But, the greatest blessing and miracle
Didn't end that Easter day.
It happens, again, each time a soul
Accepts Jesus when they pray.

They receive the gift of a lifetime
That no one can take away.
Eternal life is our Easter gift
If we'll just accept and obey.

You gave us His life in poetry and you did it very well. You showed us how a life is saved if we would turn to Him.

The greatest miracle did happen that first Easter morning. He made a way for us. The miracle is repeated every time someone receives Him. I wonder how many "miracles" will be celebrating Easter next year for the first time as a child of God.
