WHY DO WE NEED A SPECIAL TIME
A THANKSGIVING OR VALENTINE
TO SHARE THE LOVE WE HOLD INSIDE
WHY DO WE NEED A CERTAIN PLACE
A FOOLISH MADE UP HOLIDAY
TO BE THE TIME FOR WHICH WE WAIT?
A FUNNY THING, THE HUMAN MIND
SUCH A SENSE OF WORTHLESS PRIDE
KEEPING US FROM TREASURED TIME
WHY DO WE LONG FOR MOTHER’S DAY
FOR CHRISTMAS OR SOME DAY WE MADE
TO TREAT SOMEONE A DIFFERENT WAY
LOVE IS NOT A SELDOM THING
AN “I’M TOO BUSY” WAIT AND SEE
LIFE’S TOO HECTIC AND UNKIND
TO NOTICE WHAT IS WRONG AND RIGHT
AND LIFE’S TOO BEAUTIFUL A GIFT
TO RUN AROUND HERE WASTING IT
SO LET US WALK AROUND AND SAY
“I LOVE YOU” EACH AND EVERY DAY
FOR LOVE AND TIME ARE YOURS AND MINE
NOT A ONEDAY VALENTINE

Neat presentation. I like the way this poem flowed, even without punctuation. More like a positive "rant"

Good angle to come from Lisa. Very true! Unfortunately, because your entry was under the minimum word count allowed (although not enormously at 138 words) it had to be disqualified. The minimum word count is 150 words, and the maximum is 750. I hope you'll keep entering the Challenge - just keep the word count limits in mind when you do. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
