Each February 14, we celebrate love on St. Valentine's Day. We give the ones we like and love a heart shaped valentine.
Love is not a new thing. We all know what John 3:16 says:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
That was God's love for you and I. Jesus also spoke of Hos love for you and I in John 15:13 speaking of what He would do for us:
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Not just on Valentine's Day, but every day we can give Jesus a valentine - our heart. Though, it is a commandment -
Mat 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
- It really isn't a grevious one for the child of God. When you give your heart to Jesus and He becomes your Lord you are saved for all eternity. Nothing can change that. And when the blessing of God comes, you'll be shouting and a fresh love for God will burst forth from your heart!
