A Wonderful Godly Teacher.

Life is so short but sometimes we do not see that. It is only after you have lived a short while that you come to realize how short your life truly is. We realize than we only have a set amount of days to tell others about God and what He has done for us before ours days are gone.

I enjoy taking on challenges and this weeks writing assignment is truly a challenge. When I saw the little phrase, little lights started going off and my idiosyncrasies started to percolate with all kinds of thoughts of how to approach this week’s subject.

In all honesty, I cannot picture myself at the pulpit teaching others about God with my limited knowledge. In my mind, I picture myself standing AT THE PULPIT. Whose pulpit am I standing at you may ask. Let your imagination go and visualize with me a place of such extreme beauty, peace, calm and joy that goes beyond any rational explanation and you are standing there gazing into the most beautiful face in the universe; none other than GOD, my Lord, Savior and friend JESUS CHRIST. How wonderful that would be. Multi-colored lights emanating from Him and filling heaven and earth with such brilliance and beauty. We are listening to His gentle loving voice explaining the mysteries of the universe and patiently answering all our questions that we have had in our hearts. We stand transfixed gazing into His beautiful face and have a peace that surpasses all understanding.

To me that is the ultimate experience of being at the pulpit but I am earth bound and when I go to church my pastor, who truly loves God, teaches directly from the Holy Word of God. He tells it like it is and he will say that he knows there are people in the congregation who are non-believers. Brother Bruce speaks plainly and if it sounds as if he was talking directly to you than God may think, you need to hear what Brother Bruce is teaching. My pastor is a loving, gentle man who expounds the Word of God. Brother Bruce will sometimes take one book from the bible and preach on that book from beginning to the end of said book. It may take him several months or longer but when he is finished that book you know it. If you were to ask if I enjoy being at Brother Bruce’s pulpit my answer would be a resounding YES. I truly thank God for pastors who teach, preach and explain God’s Holy living Word in simple down to earth terminology. Until I am called home, I will continue to gaze lovingly at the pulpit of Brother Bruce and thank God for such a wonderful teacher.

This is a lovely tribute to a pastor who has clearly impacted you and others in a wonderful way. Keep writing.

I love the part where you describe what pulpit you would like to be behind. Good job and nice tribute to your minister.
