The Preacher

My heart it cries each and every day
As it watches the world slip farther away
If you say you love God prove what you say
Why do we then treat His Children this way?

God gave us Preachers and teachers and such
Why do you then go to doctors so much?
Are doctors bad? Now that’s not what I said
With truth, you might rely on God instead

You’ve read in his book - how Jesus did heal
Why not follow the same – now what’s the deal
Preachers teach us from the Bible you see
So you and I may God’s words believe

Remember the woman with the issue of Blood
Going to Doctors didn’t do her much good
As a matter of fact it just made her worse
Till she heard her some words that she did rehearse

She followed her words right out in the street
If they had caught her - she would surely be beat
She continued to say as she crawled on the ground
I only need touch the hem of his gown

I know in my heart this curse will be gone
As soon as she touched - Jesus knew what she’d done
Jesus said it himself right there in the verse
DAUGHTER!
Your faith made you whole - it broke that old curse

A good read - liked the Biblical reference especially. Keep writing.
