Evangelize?
Evangelism for any product or faith doesn't work unless the evangelizer is raving mad and brainwashed; or that they have had a personal encounter with God. Recovering alcoholics at least are honest enough to acknowledge God as well as they understand Him. Unless the A.A. folk come to believe in their weakness and need for something greater, they will never get to the starting line.
However for people who turn their minds and hearts to Christ, have just about waded through holy "attacks" by well oiled church folk, who themselves are pressured to build the numbers and be proud of their weekly score. Whatever you do, don't do that.
Struggling to work out which orientation I leant towards, my journey didn't avoid probable wrong turns. At one stage I almost left the path that lay ahead, for the voices my consciousness had become enslaved to. I was trying to live other people's lives, just by attending church. It took one hell of a fight just to be me, with my Lord.
Is reading the first couple of chapters of Genesis, as the day we are born, much more radical as knowing that Christ probably died naked? So that's what I did about twelve months ago. I read and reread about Adam and Eve, falling fowl of their ways, until Christ's love met my need. It was God who provided their coverings, in an act of love, so God, Adam and Eve and the rest of mankind could continue together, even though were now in a different place.
If then repentance, comes after conversion, which should only come to each of us because of the love of Christ, by the ministry of The Holy Spirit; when will we His people leave "churchianity" well alone?
