TITLE: Why Didn't I Realize This Earlier?
By Dana Hubbard

Iíve got news for you. When you hear this, itís going to knock you out of your chair. Itís a revelation so simple and so brilliant that itís actually kind of laughable that I never realized it until recently. I still marvel at all the wasted time that could have been put to good use had I realized this vital concept earlier in life.

I hope your readyÖ

Satan cannot come up with anything new.

Now, just pause for a moment and really think about that. Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. There is no creative power in him whatsoever. Have you ever wondered why there is an answer in the Word for everything that Satan throws at us? Itís because he canít create anything. The temptation carrots he dangles in front of people today are the same ones he used then. The situations he tries to lure people into are the same tired, old plans. It is impossible for him to invent a new angle to try and take people down.

What seems to be a favorite ploy of Satan? Fear. Almost every situation or struggle can be boiled down to fear. He loves to use fear as an inroad and most of the time we donít notice until itís already there. The Israelites were fearful after being freed from Egypt. They were scared that God wouldnít provide for them and worried about food, shelter, and protection. Their fear was so intense that they actually began to think they were better off as Egyptian slaves! The fear turned to grumbling and disobedience and that eventually led to 40 years of wandering around instead of entering the promise land.

Think of areas in your life where fear has managed to stake a claim. Are you afraid of losing your job? You begin to think things like, how would you pay your bills or take care of your family? Your stomach gets tied in knots with worry and youíre popping antacids like candy. Sleeping pills become a necessity due to the hours of tossing and turning with no sleep in sight. The stress causes you to lash out at loved ones and damages your relationships. Satan is having a field day in your life and youíre so focused on ďwhat ifĒ scenarios that you havenít even noticed.

Itís time that we realize that Satan is NOT this looming force we have to contend with. Itís not ďweak little underdogĒ Christians up against the heavyweight champion of the world, Satan. He has ALREADY been defeated. For too long we have elevated him as a worthy adversary and opponent. Fear is one of his main tools because it keeps us distracted. You focus on that one thing and are oblivious to the other ways Satan is creeping in while your eyes are elsewhere.

Because Satan has no creative power, he must use the same tools and ideas over and over. When that revelation takes root in your heart, the path becomes clear. Identify the few measly little tools he has and obliterate them from your life. There is no counter punch he can give for that blow.

When you eradicate fear from your life, you are truly free. Itís not a pipe dream. You are a powerful child of God. There is nothing that can defeat you. Death holds no sway for you. God has strength and peace for you in every situation. When we rest in Him, there is sweet sleep. You can be completely free from fear!

But "thanks" for telling us about this now! I loved the way you presented this "fact" without preaching. Great way to rid ourselves of all our worries...Great Job! (And, no, I didn't realize this or think about this earlier, either.) You've made my day! Well written, nicely done.
