TITLE: Ask and thou shalt recieve
By Betty Overstreet

Ohhhhh, my head really hurts. Ouch! There’s a huge bump where it hurts. Ummm, Wow, I can hardly move. Ohhhh it is soooo dark in here.

Where am I? I can’t seem to remember anything after I raised up the garage door to go shopping. It was dark, I remember that because Mother always warns me about going out after dark by myself but, my gosh, how does she expect me to ever get the shopping done if I don’t go out after dark. When you work all day during the week and then another job on the weekends, well heck! You shop when you can fit it in!

Ohhhhh, I hurt so bad and I can’t seem to turn my body around to figure out where I am. I can’t move my feet, they seem to be stuck to each other and my hands, ohhh my wrist hurts, too. I can hardly move my hands.

“Help! Somebody please help me! I can’t see anything. Help! Help!”

What is that noise? A metal kind of noise. Is it a key turning? Maybe someone heard me yell for help. If it is someone with a key…………oh no, it must be the person that put me where ever I am. Something, what is it…a door is opening, I must be – oh Dear God, am I in the trunk of my car? All I remember is raising up the garage door and then—pain, a terrible blinding pain in the side of my head.

“Dear God, please help me. I try not to ask for too much for myself, but Lord, I need you now as I have never needed you. Please send one of your angels to save me from who ever is opening the door.”

“Shut up woman or you are really going to be sorry! Hee Hee, well truth is you are going to be sorry you ever opened up your garage door while I was passing by. You are a real cutie and I can hardly wait to get my hands……..”

“Oh Lord what is happening? What was that noise. Who is that horrible man? Lord I am so afraid, please send me someone……”

“Hello there Angie, shush now, everything is alright. That awful man isn’t going to hurt you, in fact he is going to have a terrible headache when he wakes up. Now let me help you get untied and out of this car. Your head will stop hurting pretty soon.”

“Who are you, I can’t see you, it’s so dark. How do you know my name I’ve never seen you before, have I? OH! It is getting light , now I can see …you are, oh my gosh, the light is coming from you.”

“Well, Yes Angie, sometimes there is light when it is needed. Now, here are your car keys. Hurry and get in your car, you aren’t very far from home. Go right home and put an ice pack on your head, you can buy groceries some other time…………I have to hurry, someone else needs my help now.”

“But wait, where did you come from? How did you know I needed you?”

“Angie dear girl, didn’t you call out and ask for someone to help you.? Ask and thou shalt receive, remember? The “Big Guy” always hears when you call on Him!”

You created a great sense of urgency.

I did get a little confused in the dialog, but it wouldn't take much to correct that. Also, let me feel her pain a bit more. I want to be in the trunk with her.

Wonderful job.
