ANGRY – The Dichotomy
Things that make me angry;
Those who disregard the feelings of others
Or hurt people for a good laugh
Husbands who abuse their wives with physically,
Mentally, or emotionally violent acts
Children who are raised without a parent,
Because they want to be “free” of the responsibility
Fathers who do not spend time with their children,
And beat their wives, and lie, and cheat
Christians who mistreat sinners or turn their back,
When one is hungry or in need
Mothers that are harsh with their children-
Not considering their little hearts, and little feelings.
The man who can walk out on his crying wife, because
His heart doesn’t break when hers is broke.
Fathers who are never involved, because to them,
Family, responsibility, and commitment are a joke.
Things that used to make me angry;
Happy people and families not torn by the fruit
Of pride, selfishness, and greed.
Mothers who loved their children unconditionally,
Defending their hearts; stomping out all insecurity.
Husbands that stick around and own their responsibilities;
Determining that every need and problem they’ll meet.
The sight of a mother holding her baby close to her chest so
It could sleep next to her heart’s passionate beat.
Those who told the truth for integrity’s sake-
Not deterred by the possibility of justice’s correction.
The people that gave pardon to those who lied to them,
Because forgiveness was the better and more healing direction.
What was the change?
Before, I was angry because of the things I never received,
After, I was angry out of passion for what I believed.
Before, I was invisible, not seen by love, so I wanted to fight,
After, I found myself conquered but lifted up in God’s sight.
Before, I was about me, taking care of number one,
After, it was about Jesus, which means loving everyone towards the Son.
Before, I was angry at the world, at you, at God and all in His sight,
After Jesus found me, so now I find myself angry for what is right.
This is a dichotomy of the Anger in my life.
