The venom that you spewed.
They know because they’ve been there.
It isn’t only you.
The selfishness you discharge,
It makes you all the same.
You scream you want to be unique,
You have your part to blame.
It’s hard to start the changes
From child to young adult.
You think no one can understand
There’s no one here at fault.
You have to recognize them
For what they really are.
The road of independence,
Is close but yet so far.
They brought you to this world of ours
And knew there’d be a day,
When you would try to dig your heels.
Demand to have your way.
You hissed out that you hate them,
You stomped and slammed the door.
You spat out that old cliché’,
I wish I wasn’t born.
It’s too late for those wishes,
So stop your childish act.
We all have suffered through this,
And that my friend is fact.
Their doing what they promised.
To love and raise you right.
It might be nice if you would say
I love you guys . . . tonight.
