Holy Spirit, You Who best knows Father and Son, I lay myself once more in worship on the altar to Lord God Three-in-One, the One and Only Awesome God, Merciful yet Just Only Way to the Father…, for Your Infilling and Inspiring. The more I’ve considered in recent years the awesomeness of the Greatest Gift of Triune Godhead, I am overwhelmed by the LOVE that brought it into fruition.

My heart and mind overflow with words of thankfulness, praise, and “hushness”; amazement, humbleness, and reverence; love, joy, and peace.

It’s nearing; our corporate celebration of the beginning of YOUR GIFT OF GIFTS. When we celebrate Christmas, as we believers celebrate Your Gift, enable us to more and more utilize the secular world’s observance of what they see as Christmas. It seems that, each year, they enlarge the season by days or weeks—-putting items out for sale even in September in some stores. May we be harmless as doves, but wise as serpents, and make use of that time to give out Christmas tracts, put them in all our mailings, and leave them on the table when we leave as generous a tip as we are able. Only You know which one You will choose to work through.

Speak through us, O Lord, that we may have Your Wisdom and Words as did the Apostle Paul while on Mars Hill in Athens, Greece, so long ago. Whenever someone wishes us “Happy Holidays,” “Season’s Greetings,” or “Merry Xmas,” or “Merry Christmas,” may we be alert to the opportune moment You have engineered for us. Having been readied by You and emptied of fear, may Your Grace be communicated through us as we gently thank the greeter and say how it would bring us joy if they could give us a few moments to share what the season means to each one of us personally.

Instead of attacking or expressing sanctimonious “righteousness,” may we attend all the graded celebrations within our churches in an air of expectancy no matter how many times we may have seen the Christmas pageant or musicals. May You be in each one of them, in each one participating in them, and in each of us pew participants.

May we be inspired, as You lead, to obey by not only inviting, but bringing or arranging to meet them at an agreed upon place, neighbors, co-workers, and strangers who may be angels. May we proceed at a peaceful, joyful pace to the seats we had already reserved so that we may sit as a group, and worship with them. May we have placed ourselves where we are in their midst instead of on an end of a row so we will be able to gently encourage seekers during the invitation and offering to go forward with them should You lead them to respond then.

Though I am usually hard pressed for funds during that time, I know You are not. So, even now, I am asking, seeking, knocking, and expecting You, O Jehovah Jireh (God Who Provides), to make the way so we (You and I) can invite them somewhere for coffee and pie that will provide immediate low-key follow-up on the Message You have just spoken or sung to them.

As only You can, work through us Your instruments that others may be saved this Christmas time and truly celebrate their first Christmas, Easter, Resurrection, and continuous Indwelling combined into one. May our gift to You be the means whereby there will be many more new temples worshiping You in corporate worship. May there truly be “Joy to the World.” In Your Precious Name, Amen.

A heartfelt prayer reaching out to God to work through your praise and worship to bring others to the glory and promise of God. A beautiful prayer.

What a beautiful prayer. Your opening paragraph was powerful and my favorite part of your article. Thank you for opening your heart and sharing it with us.
