There once was a girl named Belle
Who tripped and fell into a dell,
Tumbling down heels over hair.

And when she arrived there,
She tripped over a great bear,
Who growled, “Do I have a story to tell!”

She jumped back with a shriek
“Yikes! A bear that can speak!”
And trembling fell into a chair.

As she violently rocked there
Eyes wide, face scared
It ominously started to creak.

Jumping up with a start
She shrieked, “My poor heart,
Just can’t take all the fear and trep’dation!”

“Though a country or nation
I can’t stay at this station
Please tell me, how do I depart?”

With a growl and a sigh
The bear morosely replied,
“Climb back up the way you came down.”

Looking back with a frown
She then turned around
And started to climb up a ladder

She met with an adder
Which just made her madder
And sent her scrambling back down.

As her feet touched the ground
She heard a slight sound
That calmed her rage and fear

A voice, sweet and clear,
Said, “Be calm, do not fear,
I’ll show you the path you should take

I promised to make
A way of escape
I’ll not give you more than you can handle.”

After fastening her sandals,
Belle started to amble
Down the way of escape that was made.

Sometimes she did wade,
Sometimes there was shade,
As she faithfully followed her guide.

Through a storm, wind, and tide
She stayed close to his side
And he brought her safe home the next day.

I guess this is what is called prose/poetry. I'm not familiar with all poetry forms. However, the message is clear here no matter the form.

A very fanciful poem. Reminds me of a nursery rhyme.

Cute little parable-poem. I recognize the poetry structure, but don't remember offhand what this type of poem is called. I could see this in an illustrated Christian children's book with the animals that were mentioned. Clever!

What a wonderfully innovative format! And it's a story poem to boot - my favorite kind. Nice!

Interesting style. I'm not familiar with all forms of poetry, but this one kept my interest to the end. Good job.

Maybe a nursery rhyme or the words of a children's book. Nicely done.
