See, now, the Lion of Judah arise!
Can you not hear His mighty roar?
His glory is shining before our eyes!
His voice can be heard from the farthest shore!
And who does not tremble before His rage?
Before Him must bow on bended knee
The proudest of kings from every age,
And all the dark hosts of Hell must flee!

Likewise take heart, O trembling saint!
His Spirit of courage shall rise up within.
Stand strong we in faith and let us not faint,
And break all our fetters of fear and of sin.
Then shall we go forth and loudly proclaim
His royal decrees as a lion bold,
His wonderful works, His glorious Name,
And sing of Redemption to young and to old.

Behold the merciful Lamb of God!
The One Who was slain ere the earth’s foundation;
Who humbly the pathway to Calvary trod;
His precious blood poured out for every nation.
He came to restore us but not to condemn.
He weeps with our anguish, brings balm to our pain.
A manger-born baby from far Bethlehem,
He opened the way to the Father again.

When love unconditional shines from His face,
Where, then, is our boasting, our arrogant pride?
We draw of His Life, from the wells of His grace.
We walk in His steps, selfish wishes denied.
True freedom we find when we bow down as slaves
To the Suffering Servant, th’ eternal I AM;
Serve our generation, so many He saves;
Giving glory to Jesus, the Lion and the Lamb.

This powerful poem is a beautiful portrait of Jesus in His dual roles as Lion and Lamb! Excellent job! :)

This is marvelous! I'd love to hear it set to music and sung as an actual hymn.

There's a lot to take in David but I was particularly touched by: 'He came to restore us but not to condemn./He weeps with our anguish, brings balm to our pain'. I can see that a lot of your heart has gone into this. Thanks. Yeggy
