The word says “delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart”(Psalm 37:4). Sitting around with some fellow Christians one day conversing about how God gives us the desires of our heart. It became clear, that God changes us, even our desires. You see the power of God changes us from within, He changes our hearts, and the things we desire to do with our lives and ourselves.
Example: I once was a drummer in a band and my desires were to play music. God changed my desires; I am now going to Bible College and desire to serve and minister to the body, assisting them in the discovery of the truths in the word. I had been a Christian for years playing music. However, my desires changed according to God’s purpose, not mine. If God had not changed my desires, I would still be in the clubs playing music. However, God has me in the body encouraging the brethren. This is something I had no plan doing. Therefore as we trust in the Lord, He does give us the desires of our heart. However, or desires change according to His will not ours.
In closing let me just clarify this. Our desires change as we draw closer to God. Although the things we want to do may be good, often times when true change occurs, we end up desiring to be about our Father’s business and not ours.

I hear what you're saying, brother, and it is great that you're studying at Bible College now, and that God has brought you to that point of desiring to serve Him in the church. Don't discout your music though ... perhaps you'll find that He'll give you opportunity to use it along the way too! May God use you in whatever way and may your desires continue to follow suit with God's direction as you delight in Him.

What you said is very true. I see God changing a lot of things in people's lives lately, including my own. God bless you.
