BATTLE CRY OF THE UNSUNG HERO

Every time I sing the Star Spangle Banner I feel a thrilling chill, overwhelming sense of pride, and awesome joy. These words represent the sweat and blood, life and death, failure to victory, all of which offers the hope of bringing equality to all.

Unfortunately we so easily forget how much is really involved when fighting so that we may remain a nation with freedoms. The media expose us everyday to the current wars that we are involved in. Unfortunately much of the truth is never brought to the television screen. Our young men and women are making a difference in thousands of lives. Theyíre bringing hope where there was no hope. War is violent and ugly but it was wars that were fought at the foundation of our nation that prepared the way for many generations to enjoy the rewards of their willingness to fight for what they believed in.

The emotional sacrifice that the remaining family faces goes on day after day. They are aware that at any moment their life could be altered forever. Yet, they carry on their required daily activities, care for children, work, spend sleepless nights praying, wipe away childrenís tears and count the moments until their hero will be out of harms way.

Here heartbreak and death fight to preserve our nation, where justice and peace thrive together and continues to make our homeland the greatest place on earth. Their sacrifices have led to a nation of people willing again to shed its life blood for other lands and their people that the gift of freedom may reign on their soil, with triumphant hope of world peace.

Tears fall and my heart becomes heavy. I canít help but wonder why it has to be this way. Why canít love, kindness, and hard work bring about the same goal of world peace, justice, and equality? Money canít but it or we would have it. Sweat and blood has yet to accomplish it or again we would have it.

Never has any condition been more worthy of what America and the nations that battle beside her are now endeavoring to do. Never have we had to fight an enemy of terrorists. Never has it been more important that we recognize the unsung heros that remains at home. May we become a nation that reaches out to the families that are supporting their loved ones by allowing them to be in harms way to protect our nation. May we offer back to our beloved military men and women the gift of caring for their families while they are gone. One of the greatest gifts we can give them is our time and love which is so needed when someone is lonely and carrying a heavy burden.

Our Statue Of Liberty stands strong at our harbor door, holding high the light of truth, and still our people give till it hurts down to the blood of its children. Our flags wave tirelessly for victory. Our money still displays the seal of our faith ďIn God We Trust.Ē

Our intention is strong, our resolution is in action, and our determination is solid. As long as our nation remains true to its foundation of faith we canít fail as a people and a nation. Failure is not an option for any of us.

I admire the sentiments expressed in this article. The courage, vitality and willingness to bear arms for peace and freedom, not only for America, do not go unnoticed. Yours is a strong voice in support of the men and women who brave dangers to save the world. Well written.
