As a member of my ministerís congregation I have often asked myself what it takes to have the heart of a pastor. In my novel writings I have one series that dwells on the responsibilities a pastor faces. His responsibilities are as such that he must have a servant's heart and yet lead masses. Most pastors are THE most dedicated people I know, to the house of God as obviously they should be.
They are to be faithful and to answer their call, as they must give an account and answer to God for each one of us: as on Judgment Day they are to be held accountable for our souls. Such a responsibility makes most preachers I have seen; preach their hearts out about the good news, about salvation and eternal life. But preaching does not always fully make a preacher what he is. So, what, are you asking, makes a pastor who he is? Itís simple: He has to have THE HEART of a pastor.
A pastor must be loving, caring, compassionate, and be willing to work diligently for the Lord. He is to show a good example of a Christian as he is performing his higher calling for the Good Shepherd as he leads the Lord's flocks. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." That is what is says in Galatians 5:22-23. Those are the qualities of a good pastor. Brothers, sisters, you in the ministry I exhort you to search your hearts: Do you show the fruits of the spirit and do you have the heart of a pastor?

This is very thoughtful and full of truth.

Be careful of punctuation errors, and consider giving us some anecdotes about pastors who exemplify the traits you list.

Thanks for this tender essay.

A pretty nice piece, a good title. It could use a few more spaces, etc. But overall, a pretty good read.
