Why do we need a fire-fighter at Thanksgiving? Why do we need forests, plants and berries? In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend as well as the fall colours which have become the special glory of the season. Aren't they particularly beautiful where you live too? Thank God for the bounty of the harvest and for all the natural wonders that we must protect. That's why a fire-fighter is very much needed and appreciated now.
Remember the autumns of your childhood. Remember the leaves of time falling in abundance and know that nature is God's show on Earth and that He's in the essence of our immediate natural surroundings. Praise Him for all He's worth which surpasses all understanding.
And greet your friendly neighbourhood fire-fighter with a fiery smile and hearty gratitude for his great service and protection of all of the natural resources which we enjoy and, hopefully, cherish in our own particular ways.
