I once read a true story about a Father and his two daughters that were traveling down a road. When the Father had noticed a gas leak coming from the car, he told his daughters to get out of the car. As he pulled over onto the side of the road to get out, he looked in the back seat, and his girls were gone. When the Father had said to them, get out of the car, his girls had took it literally and jumped out the window!
Wow, as I think of this story, I wonder how many Christians truly honor and obey the Leadership that is over them. We know there are different types of leadership, but the most important are these:
The husband who is over the wife, the parents who are over the children, the Pastor who is over the Church, and the Lord who is over all.
I wonder how many children respectfully obey their parents.
How many wives joyfully submit to their husband’s leadership.
How many Christians submit to their pastors authority, and how many Christians truly honor and
obey the Lord.
The Bible says in Hebrews 3:17 (kjv) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves,....
As Christians, I believe we ought to be like those two girls in the story. We need to be ready to listen for a command, and we need to be eager to jump, when Godly Leadership speaks.
