Come let us follow this trail
of God’s created perfection,
found in spice markets and homestyle kitchens.
Cake rolls, fresh fruit and jello
mixed and layered to perfection.
Top it all with custard cream.
This great and English trifle pudding.
Coated and crusted apple pie
Sugared and spiced for an appealing smell.
I sink my teeth into a slice,
and dream my way through it.
Plump garlic cloves in skins
dry roasted in my pan.
Crushed and added to raw vegetables
We’ve gone to a new high.
Rich ice cream mixed with yogurt
it’s part healthy and part luxury
This is my daily treat to myself.
Mouth watering! I dip my spoon.
Caribbean style black cake
made from dark fruits soaked in rum.
Mix slowly with rich batter.
T’was baked by my mother’s hands.
Now Jesus knows what’s best for us.
He brewed a perfect wine that day.
The wedding guests were happy
at this unexpected treat.
