Lack of care for our soul, in the midst of testings and trials coming to us at all times, can turn us sour. Life challenges visit us unrestrained, uninvited or undesired, and often beyond our control. We can only admit that ‘it's fine with our soul’ when we focus on the sovereign Christ. I believe that it is our relationship with Christ that matters most.
The Lord is the Comforter of our soul. I draw my inspiration from the Old Testament saints. Even times were very bad for Job, he still trusted in God, rejecting his wife’s quick-fix advice and the counsel of his worldly wise comforters. Believing in God's leading hand through the thick and thin of life, Joseph readily forgave his brothers. To preserve his soul, David refused to harm Saul who was within his range. Elisha turned to God when left alone; he didn’t allow the master's departure to distress his soul. Although troubled in his soul at Gethsemane, Jesus prayed while his disciples were snoozing. Chained in prison, Paul and Silas decided to have a ‘Then sings my soul’ session. And Stephen wasn't sore in soul when he uttered Jesus’ prayers, ‘Forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”
When I was a small letter care-giver to my wife who has had a stroke recently, I realize that the Lord is the most reliable Care-giver of my soul. He has sent people to pray for us and encourage us in our hope for my wife’s recovery. Above all, we have learned from Job not to be bitter with my wife’s conditions or hate those who failed us; and to be distressed by some job comforters who descended on us with their theology of sufferings. Beware of the enemies of our soul (i.e. self, sins and satan, still holds true! Don’t let them harm your precious soul.Self-glory is subtle and lurking in our soul; so is self-reliance and self-praise instead of God. Let no fleshly desires weary our precious soul!
Mindful of things that war against the soul, and ask the Spirit to guard our soul and starve the flesh with His word and constant prayers. You will regret if you feed the flesh and starve the soul; seeds of sorrows you have indeed sown. Flesh is temporal; soul is eternal. Watch out for our foes for they are like thieves who rob our soul of blessings and sabotage our glorious spiritual heritage in Christ.

Wing His Words
A small bit of red ink: there are some tense problems. They might have been caused by leaving the -ed off the word " receive" or by the need to add a word to correct the tense. The only other thing is that in the second half I began to lose the organization I so appreciated in the first half.
Othe than those small issues, you have a gift there! So sorry about your wife's health. Health problems are so hard. Keep up your writing!
I will keep your wife in prayer.
God bless you both~
