Frogs chirrup happily outside, delighted by the bloated quantity of water the passing flood pushes around our home. Perhaps it is the lullaby of the rumbling rapids that dulls my concerted efforts to devise that suitable plot that will free the imagination to dance happily across the keyboard leaving a worded trail of footprints for you to follow on page and screen. I am humoured by the irony that I sit in such a quandary as I am supposed to eloquate.
I run the spell checker. Ah, good. Unrecognisable misspellings and unknown, most likely non existent words... everything is as it should be. If the spell checker cannot recognise a misspelt word, what hope have I? No I don’t want to add it you stupid thing, how is that ever going to help?
Anyway I am in an awful mess of thinking. What can I write of that suitably covers the required topic? Should I move out of the house to escape the flood or sit here in confusion till I am swept to my doom... or is that relief? Should I wake my son to come help me deliver the papers, which may not arrive due to road closures caused by the rising flood?
Help me please. I can’t think of a suitable subject to cover the topic at hand.
