Shoving the massive, non-budging drawer with her hip, Shelly made her way to the master bathroom medicine cabinet. She pulled the door open and out fell the hair removal strips, two nail files and a bottle of protein enriched nail polish. The nail polish bottle cracked as it hit the sink and polish drizzled lazily down to the floor.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Shelly grumbled. “Like I have time for this - all I want is a band-aid and now I have major clean-up! Where are the band-aids anyway? Oh there behind the pain killer. I might as well take some of that while I’m here and can find it,” she continued sarcastically.
After bandaging her bleeding abrasion, she stowed the fallen items back into the cabinet and slammed the door before anything else could fall out..
Walking out of the bathroom, Shelly looked around and shook her head. “We need more room,” she thought. “Look at Drew’s closet. He can’t even shut the door. I hate putting stuff away - it takes so much time and effort. Everything that comes out of that closet is always wrinkled because it’s all smashed together. We’ve got to come up with a better way to store things -maybe one of those rental units.”
“I think I’ll check that out on the internet,” Shelly thought. “And while I’m here I think I’ll check my messages. - Oh Consuela at work, that’s odd, I wonder what she wants.”
“Hello, friends I was wondering if anyone has any light-weight, unwanted clothes.
I am planning to visit my family in Central America and they are not as fortunate
as we are here. I can take up to one hundred pounds and would be very grateful
for any contributions. Thank you, Consuela”
“Well if that isn’t contradictory! One hundred pounds isn’t exactly light weight!” Shelly laughed at her own joke. “Seriously, I’d love to help her, but I wouldn’t know what would be appropriate and I certainly don’t have the time or energy to dig through our drawers and closets any more than I have to. I just hope I have clothes to wear tomorrow that aren’t wrinkled.”
“I think the preacher talked about this same thing on Sunday. Worrying about what to wear. What did he say? Something about worrying being good for the soul, or was it adding days to our lives?” Well I should live forever then, because I never run out of things to worry about.” Shelly reasoned.
She jumped at the sound of her cell phone “A kiss may be grand, but it won’t pay the rental, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
“I love this new ringtone, it’s so me,” she thought happily. “I almost hate to answer.”
“Hello” she said
“Hey, great news, Babe!” It was Drew.
“What is it?” She asked excitedly.
“That promotion I applied for at work? I got it! It’ll mean more hours, but hey, with the money I’ll be bringin in I was thinkin...we can build a new, bigger place. Tear down that old barn of a house we live in now!” Drew felt like he couldn’t talk fast enough.
“Oh Drew, really? With walk-in closets?” Shelly practically drooled over the idea.
“Sure Babe, if that’s what you want,” he assured. “You’ll be a woman of leisure. We’ll be able to relax and enjoy life. Yeah, just like the preacher was talking about. Eat, drink and be merry. ... And you thought I wasn’t listening!”
“Drew, this is so great! It’s a dream come true - a blessing from God. I could just die!”

Generally, italics, as opposed to quotation marks, are used to indicate thought, to make it easier to determine whether the person thought it or said it out loud. In the challenge, use < i > and then when you want to end the italics, put < /i > (without the spaces.
I think I know what Biblical parable you're hinting at... I'd put the reference as an author's note. But you did a great job with this one!
