edit as I go. Other times, I wait until my head is empty of the
ideas, words and thoughts for the particular subject, and
then walk away from the computer, do something different
for a little while, then sit back down and look at it again.
This gives me a new perspective on the piece, and quite
often, I will make changes that I would not have if edited at
the time of the original writing. Why would that be, do you
think?
I cannot write. No, seriously, I cannot! It is not by my own
hand that I write anything. It is by God's divine inspiration.
I never thought I had the ability to write, or to sing, or to
dance, or to do any of those things most people do. But
when I heard God telling me to write devotionals for the
prayer chain I monitor for our ladies at church, I kicked
and screamed and ran and carried on for 6 months or
better. But He kept telling me, and I kept saying, 'NO!'
I guess we all know by now who won! But once I accepted
His command, I relaxed and just did it. It did not take me
very long to realize it was not getting done by my own
talents. I had to sit down and pray, and ask for His Word
to come through my hands to the screen. If He did not
do it, it would not get done. When I was not in His will, I
found that the words did not come, or they were stilted
or stiff. They sounded phoney, even to me. But when I
let Him take over, He would lead me to the scripture,
then He would edit the verses themselves! He would
show me meaning I had never seen before, many times
in scripture I had read and studied several times over. He
showed me that His Word is indeed Living Truth.
Yes, He is the editor. Not me. Again, I do not have that
talent, nor the grace. But He does. And He will take me
back through what I have written, and the changes will
come when they need to come. There are many times
where I hear Him and type it all correctly the first time.
But there are those other times when I may be distracted
by noise, or by situations I may be dealing with in my
own life. And in those times, that is when The Editor
In Chief shows me that the scripture and the message
He has given me is FOR me. Yes, it is for the benefit
of those I email it to, but it is also for me, myself, and I.
He uses me to share His Word, and His love, with others.
But He also knows what I need, and when I need it.
He may change a phrase, or a word here and there,
but He never changes the original message. Yes, God
is indeed the Editor, and He is in complete control, using
His grace, His wisdom, and His power to touch the lives
of others. If only ALL editors could be more like Him!
Blessings!

I'm not sure what caused the odd formatting (all the white space on the right margin)--I wonder if using the 'preview' button before hitting 'submit' might reveal the problem and enable you to change the spacing somewhat?
