It inflicts fear of death and death itself.
While we say this of the sword, we do find that the pen can do some of the same when it is wielded unwisely, either intentionally or unintentionally. It can also be wielded in a cruel manner to inflict pain on its target audience in the midst of a writer’s own pain and suffering. On the other hand we must look at the flip side. A pen uses one of the most powerful things in the world, words. Words can kill but they can also heal. Words can hurt, but they can also help. Use of the words in pen form can transcend to the deepest wound and hurt of the heart and soul and bring healing, even life to what was once thought dead.
The greatest example of this is the word of God. Scripture is the inspired word of God written down for our learning to teach us truth and to realize the wrong in our lives. The word of God equips us for all the good that God wants us to do. That penned word teaches us how to love in deed and in thought. It teaches us how to treat brothers and sisters in Christ as well as our own family members. It teaches us how to give unto the Lord in every good work. Above all it teaches us how to have faith in God and live out that profession of faith. It also teaches us the power of speaking the inspired written word of God. We can look at those like the prophet Elijah who by the word of God spoke that there would be no dew or rain except according to his word. For the space of three and one half years there was no rain. The prophet Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones by the word of God was able to speak that the bones would live and as he prophesied the body parts of the slain all came together. Lastly he prophesied to the winds which entered into the bodies giving them breath and they lived and arose as a great army.
We can also look at the words of Jesus when He spoke healing to the centurion’s servant. He spoke life when He said Lazarus, come forth and he came from the tomb bound in his grave clothes. He spoke life to the boy in Nain, Jairus’s daughter, as well as others. So there is power in words we speak. The pen is only an extension of spoken words. The power of life and death is in the tongue. This power is also in the written word as well.

Your take on this topic is similar to another article, also in Beginners (Superman) of which I agree with you on.
Remember to double space paragraphs for easier reading :)
But you did a great job describing the topic and your passion for the Word is obvious. Good job.
I'd recommend a stronger hook--using the topic for your opener might not bring in readers. Start with an anecdote with some oomph, perhaps, and they'll be more likely to stick around.
I appreciate the time and thought that you put into this.
