Upon being told that I have cancer I thought well it would be really nice to be able to spend some time with my immediate family at a retreat.
To be able to discuss and discover what is really important in mine and their lives!
Especially with my wife and children.
To go to a place where there was no pressure of having to prepare meals, do the dishes, or clean the rooms etc on any of us!
Well what kind of retreat would be fitting and relaxing for us all, would it be one set in a native bush scene or a mountain or at or near to the beach or a lake.
For us all I think that to be near water in the form of either a lake or the sea side would be totally relaxing for us all as we all like to fish and feel the sand between our toes!
There is something refreshing about the smell of salt air of the sea it seems to clear the head and sooth the mind and it seems to be refreshing for the inner spirit of us all.
There would be heaps of space so that if any one of us needed space and time to be alone to think and contemplate the future, it would be there. Or if we wanted to be a family together away from others that space would be near.
There is another aspect of the sea side that is it displays the magnitude of our heavenly father’s creation, and that is a reminder to us all that we need to spend time in prayer searching to understand and know his will in this situation.
I know that having this time out with ones family will give each one of us memories of each others love and understanding towards each other, and it will also allow any fears to be revealed and be calmed and hearts restored to peace and understanding of what and how we relate to each other and most importantly our personal respect for each persons spirit.
