This was truly great...and a different POV...from the afflicted person herself rather than a family member. I especially loved the last line...brought back memories of my dear, dear mother-in-law who asked a million times a day "what day is it?" We loved her so much and it broke our hearts to see her slip into that fog, never to return. Thank God, she is at peace at last!
You showed solid, loving insight into the thought processes of the MC. Congratulations on your 2nd place win. :)
As one who already fails to know why I have gone upstairs(or was I just coming down?), I certainly hope that I have a granddaughter who will treat me with the loving sensitivity that this one shows. You did a great job in making your characters rich. Congratulations!
