Tyler looks so great in his basketball uniform. The game is about to begin. Oh, there’s my cell! “Hi, Sherry. I’d love to be there at Ladies Prayer and Bible Study tonight, but I’m at Tyler’s basketball game.” Well, yes he is playing tennis but that is on Tuesdays & Fridays. “Alright, well, thanks for checking on me.” The ladies are starting a new book tonight called Entering His Presence. I’m sure it will be good. You know, I want to get closer to God. But, I’d feel bad if my child couldn’t participate in everything that his friends do. I mean, I know it keeps us busy, but they say it builds self esteem to be involved in an extra curricular activity. So, doing two or three must be that much better for him. There goes the whistle. “Go, Tyler!”… Boy, do I feel tired.
It’s hump day. At least, I got the dry cleaning picked up and cupcakes dropped off at Tyler’s school after work. We should be at church soon. I sure did like that worship CD that my husband left in the CD player. I should’ve switched it back to that when Tyler got in and put it on that rowdy radio station. That station seems a little rough to me but I can stand it. We’re here. We’d better go inside.
I see Mrs. Jessup and that new young blonde lady are talking quietly near the alter. I wonder whats going on there. I’d better pray for them when it crosses my mind. The organist is still flipping pages. I know the service will start soon, but I’ll just talk to a few ladies about volunteering for the nursery schedule. Maybe I can sell a few magazines for my son’s basketball fundraiser while I’m at it. I know I should’ve taken the time to catch up with these ladies by phone or maybe arrived to church sooner. But everyone’s busy right?
Oh, I like this song. La da da. The pastor’s wife’s dress really is lovely. I’ll have to mention that to her later. What page is that next hymn on? I know I need to focus. It’s just that I have laundry to switch out when we get home, and …has Tyler finished his science project? That blonde has gone to the alter. Someone ought to go with her. Oh, there is Mrs. Jessup. She’s so precious, that one. I‘d go if no one else had. “I’m coming back to the heart of worship…” I do want to worship. Hey, I think I’ll check my purse for a mint.
The pastor is closing. You know,… the sermon was alright tonight and the music was pleasant. Nothing amazing, though. I didn’t really feel God. Maybe they should just plan more thoroughly. I don’t know what happened. Maybe next week will be better.
