There were so many scriptures about worship one in particular caught my eye, “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness; and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.” Embarrassed, I thought, “O Lord, there’s nothing silly about them, I’m being silly by not being thankful and worshipping you.” The following Sunday I went to service with a made up mind to participate during worship. At first it felt odd and uncomfortable but once I opened my mouth there was such a force, such energy released as we unified ourselves in worship; worshipping in unison is so powerful. I felt free, free from people, what they were thinking, and most of all I was free from self. I left service with confidence; I knew I had the victory. I know now that God deserves to be worshipped no matter how I feel or what’s going on in life, God is worthy of our praise.
