Bittersweet day
Missing my son.
I was dreading these hours
Of Mother's Day to come.
Started late, Saturday night,
Tears started to flow,
listening to music
Tim wanted me to know.
Went to worship you Lord,
Corey at my side.
I'm glad he made a good choice
And swallowed his pride.
Lunch was a treat
With dear friends we enjoy.
A beautiful afternoon;
I'm still missing my boy.
Cards and flowers from friends,
Hugs and kisses too.
I'm missing my Mom also;
Two reasons to feel blue.
It's ten-thirty at night
And my cell phone sends a beep...
A text message from someone;
It sounded so sweet.
"Happy Mother's Day", it said.
"I'll be calling you soon."
"I've been very busy,
X's and O's", to assume...
I'd know who it's from.
But I did not believe
I recognized the number
On my screen they did leave.
So, I text back to the caller,
"Thank you, but who is this from?"
I'm sorry, she says.
"It's Tiana;" Timmy's old chum.
"I got Tim's memorial you sent,
Of which I am grateful."
"It made me sad 2 see it;
cuz all those years I knew him...
So painful."
"All those pix I enjoyed,
And I remembered him well."
"But you are his Mom,
You loved him so much, I can tell."
Timmy, I wish I could
just send you a text,
And find out how you are
And when I will see you next.
Text me back please
And let me know
How you are doing up there,
I'll wait for the beep
On angels wings and a prayer.
