The whole string of islands that form the Philippines lies on a chain of volcanoes. These volcanoes can lie dormant for years in some cases and then suddenly erupt, shooting lava up into the air and down the mountain sides.
When this happens people have to flee or be covered with this molten rock. It is a scary time. People who are observant and vigilant can get out of harms way many times. Some don’t heed warnings and thus run into trouble.
Many a person is like a volcano. All the hurts and disappointments are covered up and left to brew. Because they are not at peace with themselves and the Lord they constantly feed these feelings and feel sorry for themselves. If they are not put under the blood of Jesus and forgiveness is not extended as we are commanded to, they will erupt sooner or later and hurt those around them as well.
The only way to stop this is forgiveness. In the Lord’s Prayer we say, “Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who sin against us”. If we do not forgive like this, how can we expect to be forgiven?
Only then can the churning deep within our chest be stilled. Remember He is in control and will take care of whoever or what ever it was that hurt you.
The first few years of our marriage we lived with my mother-in-law. She was a wonderful Christian lady but a house just doesn’t seem to be made for two ladies. I let many resentments build up against her. I felt I had been wronged and wouldn’t let them go. One day the Lord dealt with me and showed me that He couldn’t answer my prayers or use me with sin in my heart. I to Grandma and asked her forgiveness. Oh, the freedom the Lord gave. Not that I didn’t have to work at letting go and claim promises given. Shortly after the doors opened for us to be involved in an outreach Bible study.
To forgive is a decision of the mind. Our feelings will not always agree with this we must bring them to the Lord again and again and claim the victory. Let’s not be like a volcano and finally erupt. Let’s deal with these issues now and prevent a lot of damage.

Be careful of what I call "Christian-ese"--those familiar words and phrases. People will be more drawn to your piece if you find new ways to express those ideas.
So happy to read that your family situation has turned out happily.
