or sometimes on the kitchen table.
One time I opened the car and there it was.
I really thought he forgot that time.
My days were fresh and sweet and I didn’t
have any cares. My time was spent with waiting
arms and the longing to see his face, that was exciting
young love, full of hunger, full dreams.
When that little gift was the most important thing.
Now the days have passed into weeks and weeks
into months and months into years.
and though the anticipation of each moment is not
quit the same my love is deeper and stronger with a
longing to still see his face. To me the way he looks
at me when ever I walk in the room, or when I get a
new outfit for that special occasion that’s what I
call romance, or like the time he came home with
these dainty little wild flowers he found while walking
in the woods. I look forward to each day now with
a new joy and a new memory of all the little things
that have a special place in my heart.
I awake to the morning sun just happy
to see him the one I love.
Just like the little gift on the night stand.
