The dawn breaks on a clear new day.
A billion plus people open their eyes.
The world wakes up to a new day.
A baby wakes up her mother for the new day.
A father hurries out of the house laptop in tow.
A little girl sleeping on street looks for food for the new day.
Farmers work the soil, pray for rain and look for sunshine on their new day.
In an office people rush, phones ring, computers run in high gear.
Market day is here and two people barter over the price of rice on their new day.
People filled with love, hatred, worry, joy and peace enter into this new day.
They work, they wait, they wonder.
All around the world people wonder what will be the meaning in this new day.
They wonder if this is a special, different, blessed new day.
Are they going to find a reason for their existence?
Will they see purpose in their lives, encouragement to live for the next new day?
Prayers said in a thousand languages begin to rise on this new day.
Prayers whispered, shouted, said in tears.
People rich and poor, happy and sad raise their voices on this new day.
The Lord welcomes every prayer said in faith each new day.
He listens and welcomes each opportunity to work on his children’s behalf.
The Lord answers their prayers with doses of grace, challenge and provision each new day.
The sun is setting on this new day.
People begin to lay down their busyness, toil and strain for rest.
May each one of them wake up ready to trust the Lord for their new day!
