Iíve seen it before Iím sure I have
In my dreams
Please sir can I have one?
One what
A church, where
If youíre not middle class
Youíll have the same opportunities
Invites to dinner
Conversations

A church where
People donít stand
With their mouths open wide
As you say you canít afford it
Get more qualifications
Youíre told

Hang on a minute
Donít we need to learn?
What Jesus would do?
Donít just say
I havenít a clue
Donít pull people down
Is that how you want them to treat you?
Respect and understanding
Should be the key
Jumping in with opinion ready
Makes a mess for all to see
For
The whole situation we might not know
So Godís compassion we need to show

When it comes to people
We canít all be the same
We need to be open and understanding
Looking at things in their frame
Through hazy glass we see
What we want to
Or have been taught to

Pulling down others
Is so easy
It squashes down their faith inside
So come on now
Letís raise them up
Because one day
You never know
They might just be doing the same
For you

I liked your poem. Great truths in it.

A message that needs to be heard! Is yours the church of Jesus Christ or a social club? The religious hypocrites rejected Jesus then and still do now.

I found myself reading this with a hip hop rhythm and it took on more power and punch! the church can do the most favoritism of any branch or organization. Your voice here for the average person was strong and ended with the message loud and clear
