I’ve seen it before I’m sure I have
In my dreams
Please sir can I have one?
One what
A church, where
If you’re not middle class
You’ll have the same opportunities
Invites to dinner
Conversations
A church where
People don’t stand
With their mouths open wide
As you say you can’t afford it
Get more qualifications
You’re told
Hang on a minute
Don’t we need to learn?
What Jesus would do?
Don’t just say
I haven’t a clue
Don’t pull people down
Is that how you want them to treat you?
Respect and understanding
Should be the key
Jumping in with opinion ready
Makes a mess for all to see
For
The whole situation we might not know
So God’s compassion we need to show
When it comes to people
We can’t all be the same
We need to be open and understanding
Looking at things in their frame
Through hazy glass we see
What we want to
Or have been taught to
Pulling down others
Is so easy
It squashes down their faith inside
So come on now
Let’s raise them up
Because one day
You never know
They might just be doing the same
For you
