When I first heard the subject was favoritism, I thought hmmmmm, how do I attach that to the Lord Jesus? Then I thought not like a mother might show favoritism over another child, its more like seeking favor. So my poem became easier to write as you will see here:

Look down on me in favor,
Oh Jesus Lord of my heart.
Look down on me dear Savior,
Lord you loved me at the start.
I ask you to smile upon me,
as I always do unto you.
I pray that you will see in me
the love I have is true.
Look down on me in favor
knowing what you see is real.
Look down on me dear Savior
You know the way I feel.
I look to you in times of need,
when things look rather bleak.
I look to you in times of joy,
your favorís all I seek.
Look down on me this evening Lord,
as I lay here at your feet.
Look down on me this evening Lord,
as itís my heart youíll keep.
