Late Sunday evening, a young man, by the name of Mark stood beside his car on a long stretch of road where the transmission decided to give up and die.
For what seemed like hours to Mark ended when an older gentleman driving a black shiny BMW pulled over to aid the young man that was stranded.
Getting out of his car, the older man walked towards Mark while asking “What happened?”
“The transmission died on me sir.” Mark replied politely while moving to the front of the car where the hood was raised.
Both men looked beneath the hood not truly having a clue as to what was wrong with the old model Toyota Corolla.
The man looked at Mark with an outstretched hand, “My name is Scott Price” he said then shook his head after shaking Marks hand. “I don’t think any wrecker service is open on Sunday. Is there any place I can take you?”
Mark sighed then grinned “I was on my way to the new Christian retreat about 5 miles from here. “
Scott’s demure changed from being quiet friendly to cool. Mark wasn’t sure if he had said something wrong that upset the man, but felt that this could be his chance to share Jesus with him.
“Come on and I will take you “Scott said as he headed back to his own car.
As they went on their way, Mark told Scott that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for him and if he would open his heart and soul to believe in Christ then his life would be filled abundantly with a newfound joy and peace.
Scott had to pull over, as he began to cry. He had more money than he knew what to do with, yet it wasn’t enough, being a major lawyer for one of the top law firms didn’t fill the emptiness inside either. Nothing seemed to bring him happiness or contentment until now as Mark witnessed to him.
Scott Price prayed that sinner’s prayer and gave his heart and life to Jesus that beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Now his life overflows with his newfound love for God. His faith is strong and the blessings are endless.
