There is abundance of almost any subject one may think of. In this present world we have an abundance of physical or temporal to consider. There is abundance of good and an abundance of evil. There is abundance of material wealth for the rich. There is an abundance of poverty for most of the world.
Be assured we will reap, in abundance, what we sew. A few examples of reaping and sewing are: If we sew love we will reap love or if we sew hate we will reap hate. If we sew servant-hood we will reap help when we need it or if we sew no mercy we will reap no assistance. If we sew goodness and kindness we will reap compassion or if we will sew meanness we will also reap meanness. We can show ourselves friendly and reap friends or if we can sew unfriendly acts we will reap uncaring people. There are many, many things to be considered along this line. The question we must ask our self is what would Jesus be like in any given situation? Then we must strive to emulate him and his actions.
We have been blessed in this country with the freedom that many have given their life to assure our abundance of freedom. God has blessed us with many blessings. As a result, we need to have an abundance of thankfulness to him. John 10:10 KJV tells us . . . the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. That is the fullest of measure of what the Lord wants for our lives in the here and now.
We can also experience the spiritual blessings while we await his return for us. The fruit of the Spirit as quoted in Gal. 5: 22 KJV . . . love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance is what the world needs to see in us as a witness to our Lord.
We have the greatest abundance of all in Jesus Christ. He is God come down in flesh. He is the only everlasting abundance. Through his shed blood on the cross, his resurrection, and ascension, we have the promise of eternal life if we believe. That will be the epitome of an abundance of life as we are ever present with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We must obey him. Hebrews 5:9 KJV says . . . And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. In his presence there will be no lack of anything. It will be total, complete, without limitations. Rev. 21:4 KJV tells us . . . And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. How much more abundant can it get than that? In this life we have trials, we have tribulations that are painful, but God will see us through all things and promises to be present with us who believe.
All the temporal or worldly will grow strangely unfamiliar in the illumination of his radiant light. The victory over sin is the abundance that each can look forward to. Then, in his presence we will forever be, surrounded by his awesomeness . . .safe and secure from all worldly influence.
