Personal peace is found in abundant places
From things we touch to those we feel
To each of us, itís like our different faces
What one likes, to another it might not appeal

Personal peace is a vanilla-scented bubble bath
With candles providing a soft glowing light
No one around but the orange-colored cat
His purrs almost silent, his tail high like a kite

Personal peace is home on a quiet eve
My husband and me, with Bibles open wide
Our hearts are ready and prepared to receive
The words of God in our hearts will reside

Personal peace is not for sale, nor hire, nor lease
It is a feeling that lives within our soul
It is for every parent, sibling, nephew, and niece
It is a quest for a Christian, more than that, itís a goal

Personal peace cannot be achieved by oneís self
Looking for years, it always remains elusive
Behold! It is a gift from the One who gave all of Himself
With outstretched hands, He said ďthis to you I giveĒ

Personal peace will abound throughout all time
We will lie at His feet and give glory and praise
Never again will we walk in the muck and the grime
With Jesus, His wonders will always amaze

Personal peace is waiting for you, as for me
Calling upon the name of Jesus is the key
And upon you will come the One of the Trinity
Who was, Who Is, and always will Be

I could smell the vanilla candles just reading it ~ to me that is a peaceful time in solitude that seems to be rare! Thanks for sharing! :)

Hey, I have a spa tub, an orange cat and candels. Yes, I can see it now. Thank you for reminding me to do the things that bring me personal peace.

This sweet poem certainly leaves the reader with a peaceful feeling...very nice. There are a few awkward constructions, but nothing major--what really shines is the picture that you give us of peacefulness.

I really enjoyed this poem. You could feel the peace from it. Good job.

The problem with rhymed poetry is that sometimes we reach for the rhymes, be careful you do not get caught in that scenerio. Thanks for sharing this work.

Thank-you for sharing your personal peace with us. And thank-you for reminding me that that peace can be found simply by opening my bible.

May our Heavenly Father guide your pen as you write.

You have a powerful gift for creating an atmosphere, for finding a significant place of the soul and taking the reader by the hand to join you!

Have you ever tried free verse? I think your beautiful literary voice might find a wonderful outlet in that genre.
