My friend sally has shown me what real love is all about.
This is her story and the amazing love she showed in the midst of one of the most difficult situations that anyone can imagine.
I saw this love, at her son’s funeral.
Her son had committed suicide at the tender age of 19 after years of depression and many previous attempts.
No one who saw her or her husband and family could doubt the grief they were suffering.
He was her fourth child and born on her birthday.
They were a Christian family and all their children loved God but this last one had been under the heavy hand of mental illness for 8 years.
She gave the eulogy and remembered the young man who was no longer here.
When Sally got up she radiated with peace and love that shown from her eyes through her grief to us all.
Her words touched us and made us feel her love not only for her son but for her Jesus as well.
All day long as she talked with us at her house and tended to the others in her family she glowed with peace and serenity.
She radiated with this love and peace and even joy as weird as that might sound.
It would make no sense to anyone who has not know Jesus but that day everyone who came saw Jesus in Sally.
