Love is all encompassing, we cannot possibly know or completely comprehend all of what love is.
Everyday we are faced with an example of what love is not. The depraved human condition continually lays bare the indifference which love is not.
To walk in the Sprit of Love is a glorious journey, one that is not absent the hindrances of our feebleness. We can, however, look to the day when all of “self” is cast away and we are no longer at risk of failing in love.
Until then, we are called to love. To set aside “self” and give of ourselves the Love which is Christ within us. We are to be kind and longsuffering. We are to have patience and faith. Pride should find no place in us, but rather, humility. To love should be a priority in our daily lives.
Strangely enough, those who sin against us can provide some of the best opportunities for us to learn how to love. It is easy to distinguish “our self” in the darkness of another’s sin. The light of Love exposes it.
To be loved is beautiful. It gives us worth, purpose and life. It protects our very soul.
Love is the very essence of what we were created for and who we are. Love is what we are called to demonstrate…to all.
Absent the Author of our faith, we simply can not know what love is.
Love covers a multitude of sins. It is where resurrection life begins.
*We love Him, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 (KJV)
