Accepting one another, knowing we are all different, that we all make mistakes, and the ability to forgive each other is all part of this Christian love. Think about it!! How can we not forgive others when we are not perfect ourselves. One sin is just as bad as the other...a sin is still a sin in the eyes of God, and it makes us all less then perfect. If we want God to forgive us, we must learn to forgive others, no matter the crime or how hard it may be.
Being there for each other when one of us starts to stray from the path, by being encouraging and loving, to bring them back on track, not by criticizing or judging them. Christian love is being completely selfless, and not being slefish in any way. It is focusing more on others and less on ourselves, and it is putting others' needs before our own.
Just think, God cannot bless us and fill our hands when they are closed to others. This doesn't mean to do things for others just to get blessings from God. We should do it just because we care. So we must learn to open our hands as well as our hearts. Even if this means giving up all we own, all our spare time, and even our last dollar to help someone in need, trusting in God enough that He will provide for us because we put others before ourselves.
Living this kind of love is not an easy thing to do. It requires time, lots of prayer, patience, and most of all trust in the Lord. But it is possible, and it is the greatest feeling in the world to love as Jesus loved, and not just loving our family and friends but anyone and everyone whom God may choose to put in our paths. Yes! Even the ones that are difficult to love!
Remember, if you want to grow as a Christian and have a deeper relationship with the Lord, you must first learn to grow in love.
