A Father to me for thirty nine years, oh how those years passed by.
The memories that embrace my heart shall never ever die.
One to recall was the day you fell down an icy hill.
The bucket to the the out house was quite a spill.
Your laughter filled a silent room leaving one in tears.
You knew how to comfort me through my deepest fears.
Your eyes were truly the windows of this daughters soul for God's presence I seen in you.
I could almost see the face of God no matter what we went through.
You would end every conversation with a prayer and Amen.
That is how you got your nickname, Amen Jim.
The day had sadly came when Jesus called you home.
My heart embraced a sorrow like nothing it has ever know.
Your last wishes were not to allow a machine to someday become your breath.
You knew God would carry you at the moment of your death.
A decision had been made by my two sisters and me while on the bed laying next to you.
It was the hardest thing any child should have to do.
Though for a moment you smiled as your eyes opened and you said, "Amen" with a tear trickling down your face.
We knew it was your love for us as we let you go with dignity and God's Amazing Grace.
Their is no greater gift that Love's Eyes shall ever see.
Than the Love it takes to release a father back to the Holy one that first sent him to thee.

That was just about the most touching poem I have ever read. I mean that sincerely. Thank you for sharing it with me.
