Shall I enter Heaven crownless
To lay nothing at His feet?
It's not for want of asking,
He gave me tasks to meet.

I had a chance to earn it,
But opportunity passed me by.
There was no whale to swallow,
When my part I did deny.

Now when I lay there dying,
With eternity at my feet;
Will there be nothing to give the Lord,
My Savior when we meet?

Take up your pen and write for Me
All that I have asked.
Finish the work I've given you.
I've made you equal to the task.

I will bless a willing heart,
Who answers when I call.
Will you continue to ignore
And not surrender all?

Call not Me Lord if you delay.
Take up the mantle, come and pray.
I have a crown reserved for thee.
Take up your cross and follow me.

A well written poem that gets the message across. Let our prayer be for every Christian to be willing when called to do God's bidding.
