We Pray
We Pray for everyone to have abundant
Things they need,
We selfishly hold all our blessings
And not others feed.
We think it's our only duty and call,
Just to sit and pray for them all.
We have all the supplies of the material
To give to the naked souls sake,
While in our own riches we live and love
And we take.
There are many who are lonely
But we are too busy to care,
So we do our duty, we pass by and
Say a quick prayer.
We see crime and evil , little children
Die we ask why?
We do our duty and we pray, but
Never listen to their cry.
We say a prayer and wonder why
A child lay dead,
A word of love would have helped, not
Just a prayer instead.
We love our neighbor , but do we know ,
Their deepest need,
Don't want to interfere, we just pray
And feel we have done our deed.
We could change our world if we got
Off our ,Knees after we pray,
And remember Jesus got off His to
Show us how to live each day,
Just a prayer is not a fulfillment
of His command.
But it is to get up and move, lend
the world a helping hand.
