In today’s world, there are many discussions on the end times due to the wars and rumors of wars and the political events happening in the Middle East and Israel. Jesus in Luke 21 verse 8 says, “He replied:” Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am he,” and, “The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” (NIV) He goes on in that chapter to tell of the things that will happen so that we may know the end is near. Some people see the end of the world as a great disaster but for those of us in Christ Jesus, it is just the beginning-- the beginning of experiencing a new heaven and new earth as mentioned in Revelation 21. The beginning of seeing Jesus face to face and thanking him for his great love and faithfulness. Is the end something to be afraid of? I would say, No. It is just the beginning.
