Amy Smith was frantic, she had just 3 weeks left before finals and she hadn’t even begun to study. She hoped that if she put it of long enough the exams would be forgotten and she wouldn’t loose her friends, because of graduation. However, she soon realized she could no longer put off studying. She would have to take the exams whether she was ready or not. After all she didn’t want the last thirteen years of her life to have been a complete waste.
It wasn’t that Amy didn’t want to graduate from high school, but rather she didn’t want to lose all her friends as a result. She had seen it happen many times, one-minute close friends the next strangers; she so desperately did not want the same thing to happen to her.
In a little over a month she was going to receive her high school diploma in front of an auditorium full of people, and it would all be over. She would say goodbye to her classmates, listen to them promise each other they will catch up, and walk out of the school and lives.
