A bio-break is when our body tells us we need something such as a drink, snack or to go to the restroom. While we're at work, we sometimes have to time these right in accordance with our break schedules. It also gives our minds a chance to rest as well. We can leave our cares, worries and frets at our desks and take a small vacation away from the hassle.
Our souls and spirits need bio breaks too. We are constantly inundated with messages of beautification- buy this or that, your life will be better if you do this, are you really happy? The list goes on and on. Our minds process more data per second than any computer out there. It is no wonder that we are on so many medications and are seeing countless counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists. We need a break from all of the mental bombardment.
Taking a mental or spiritual or break is much easier than taking a bio break. We don't even have to get up and we don't have to close our eyes (just in case the boss may be watching). We cannot exclude the noise in the backgrounds from our ears, but we can excuse it from our break. We focus on God and offer our entire beings up to him by saying very simple prayers such as: “God, help me to overcome this problems” or “thank you for the awesome day:, “Keep me in your will”, “Help me to not become overwhelmed.”
Every request is heard by God, it is up to Him rather or not He will fulfill them or not. Whenever we ask God anything, it is communication with Him and that is what He wants; constant communication with His children. Taking a spiritual break, gives us the opportunity to do this. And we can do it as often as we need to.
