This “rebooting” of our minds, attitude and souls is quite beneficial to our lives. Without this kind of reset, we will keep mulling over the day and the disappointments we encounter. But we don't possess the buttons that computers do. That's okay, we have the free will to stop and ask God to push the buttons for us.
God wants us to reboot with Him, not just in the morning and evenings, or even just on Sundays. He wants us to do this all the time, all day, everyday. This is what we are made to strive for. We all fall short of this though. We can never think of God every minute of our day. Our hectic schedules of picking up the kids, getting that presentation done, deciding on what's for dinner etcetera, all get in the way.
How do we go about starting over? Well, just like with a computer, we are aware when the system locks up and stops working. When we lock up and stop working for God, we need to be aware of it. We can be aware of it by praying for awareness and the ability to see things more clearly. At that point, we can push “control+alt+delete” and start our day over again. And just like with a computer, we can do it as often as we want or need to.
Once we encounter the grace that only God can give us again, we realize that He has ultimate control. We can control our self will and turn that, and everything else, over to God. That is giving our control over to the one much better equipped to handle it.
