I heard the desperation from the cry in your voice. Your pain was evident - my heart was breaking. I knew what you wanted most of all, and sensed what you were planning. I just wanted to run to you and hold you in my arms and keep you safe forever.

I know that you think that to escape from all this pain..in this way.. will make everything alright. For you, there would be peace but for all of us left behind, it would be the beginning of a nightmare. I could go on and on in this way about all of those you would leave behind, but none of that will make you change your mind. I have another plan for you to consider...you want to escape and there is another way.

Remember when Jesus wanted the "cup" taken from Him? He had shed tears of blood..His burden of what He had to do seemed to be totally impossible to bear. He had to be alone with His pain - no one could have understood or even imagined it - except He and his Father. It was immeasurably beyond any human understanding or words. Jesus was the only person to experience it - and He wanted to escape!

To you, no one can understand your pain - they have not walked in your shoes. You can escape from the pain when you can take no more...escape from life, love and everything. It is you who holds the power. Such strength in all that, to know that when you act, you control how and when you die..most people never get that chance.

My friend, is it really your life to give away - is it your life to escape from - is it your life to snuff out like quick fingers killing the flame on a candle? Does your life - body and soul - not belong to someone else? Does your life not come at a price - a heavy but loving price? Do you think there is no debt you owe?

How can you escape forever...or would it be temporary and eventually you would have to face the consequences?

Jesus could have ended His pain and suffering. He could have done many things dear friend, to make so much of what happened so easy for Himself. He knew His life on this earth was not His own. It had a purpose, a meaning and an ending that had to come at the right and specific time.

When He was torn and bleeding up on that cross, the physical and emotional pain could never be imagined. He cried out to His Father, "Why have you forsaken me?" - but His Father had not allowed His Son to endure more than He could bear. Then He released Jesus from all pain. It was then that His son had fulfilled all He came here to do.

Dear friend, we are all here for a purpose and we cannot escape it. Only God knows when we have fulfilled it. If one of us gives up before we have completed the task set for us, something will be left undone - incomplete - something important only that person can do.

Have you completed what it is you are here for? Do any other lives rely on completing your life's work?

Here is a better plan for you to think on. God can and will ease your burden and get you through this but you have to want to at least try to allow Him to. You are here because of God and are to live for Him. You cannot escape from this world and its trials and heartaches without having taken the time to go and spend time with Him...without having at least handed Him your pain and asked Him to ease it.

Talk with Him - force yourself if you have to - but you cannot lay down your life, and leave God out of it. It is not your life to do this with. Go and spend time with Him, He will lead you. Cry out to Him - He will hear, understand and comfort you.

This is God's escape plan for you - He will do it with you!

This is amazing! It made me really think about the level of suffering one can endure and then how Jesus suffered the ultimate price only for us. It's a great piece to share with those who are in pain. It offers hope and I know that God has great plans for you and for this piece!

Excellent!

Very good! This explains a truth so very clearly and also would offer one comfort. Made me think that I hoped I would never have to give a letter like this to anyone but if I had to, this would say it all.

What a loving letter! If every person contemplating suicide had a friend that lay out the burden Jesus bore for us in such loving terms, would there be any suicides?
The only thing left to explain would be the Resurrection, the hope of eternal life, but that could be left for later.
Excellent writing!

This touched me deeply. The writing is beautifully restrained, loving and emotional, yet eminating the calmness and peace found in the love of Christ. Lovely. God bless.
