Old Pharaoh cried "What have I done?
Without our slaves all work, no fun!
I should never have let them leave.
I will not watch my people grieve."
Pharaoh, turned to his officers and said,
"They'll wish from me they hadn't fled.
Gather all my chariots, we'll give chase,
If we bring them back I'll save face."
Pharaoh with his army came
Over six hundred chariots for this war game
And caught the Israelites by the Red Sea
"They'll never get away from me."
The Israelites were so afraid
So to God did they all prayed
"Moses what have you done to us?
You have truly broken our trust."
Moses, said "Don't be scared?
The Lord will save you he declared
You only need to remain calm.
The Lord will keep you in his palm"
The Lord said "Why are you crying out to me?
Get yourself moving through the sea.
Moses raise your walking stick high,
And the sea will split and you won't die.
My People will walk on dry land.
As long as you have the staff in your hand.
Then Pharaoh will follow with his men
And I'll prove I'm God once again
The Sea parted with a strong East wind
And through this did the people descend
But when Pharaoh with his army tried to follow
God stopped the wind and they were swallowed.
Once again the people were shown the power of God
And following him they would all trod
They had escaped from Egypt through God's plan
And now they were headed to the Promised Land.
