My family enjoys sharing plants with one another. My grandmother lives in a lovely house filled with baskets of hanging vines. She has vines growing outdoors covering her fence. The vines make the fence heavy and difficult to open the gate. My mother also enjoys plants in her house. With my love of her many plants, she asked if I would like my own vine to take care of. She snipped one that she had and I placed it in a vase of water. The vine grew roots and I could have planted them in the ground. The Bible in John 15 tells about how Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. As some vines are fruitful (like grapevines), we are also to bear fruit or be godly. When the vine given to me from my mother grows too long, I will start the process anew and give someone else this beautiful gift of a vine. So as Christians, we are to share about how Jesus is the vine and live godly lives.
